I thought I’d begin my blog, by introducing you to a couple of my characters. My hero, Theo Saint, is an orphan, brought up in solitude by his guardian, Dr Saint. Theo is a rather sad, thoughtful teenager. He is never allowed to meet anyone, because of a rare condition he suffers from. He has to wear big leather gloves all the time, so he can’t touch anyone. At least – that is what he has always been told. But is it true? Theo has only ever met three people, Dr Saint – his guardian, Mr Nicely – his butler, and Clarice – the deaf maid.
His life is controlled by three people in three rooms, so because of this, Theo dislikes the number 3. He is never allowed to learn about the real world, because – apparently – real facts will upset him and worsen his condition. His view of the world is largely based on what he has read in books of fairy tales. He is only allowed to read about anything whimsical, dreary, no longer relevant and pointless, so he is keen expert on extinct animals.
But one night, this lonely, miserable soul discovers a secret – in a hidden room…
Sorry, have to rush – more later..!
